Coach Augie Rodriguez is from the state of Georgia where he attended Darton Junior College (Albany) and Augusta State (Augusta) where he played outfield and pitcher.

Rodriguez played 7 seasons of professional baseball in the state of Alabama, Arizona, Georgia, Missouri, Illinois, Puerto Rico, and overseas in Europe.  Appearing in over 100 games as a starter and relief pitcher he kept his ERA around 3.00 in over 200 innings. 

After professional baseball, Rodriguez returned to Augusta State to become the pitching coach under Chris Cooper for 4 seasons making it to the PeachBelt Conference Championship in 2011.

Rodriguez has over 12 seasons of coaching at the college level and 3 seasons of coaching at the 14U-18U at Acceleration. Acceleration 18U went undefeated in 2016 in the Inaugural Fall season.  Over 25 players have signed to play college baseball and the list will continue to grow in the upcoming years.

Augie Rodriguez is married to Rachel, they have a son AJ “Agustin Jacque” Rodriguez and reside in St. Joseph, MN.  As a family our goal is to give every player boy or girl a great experience when entering Acceleration.
